SBC Summit Malta Goes Next Level with New Look and Global Appeal

20 Jun 2025

Last week’s SBC Summit Malta was totally off the hook, bringing over 6,000 gaming pros together for some major networking and knowledge sharing.

With its fresh rebrand from CasinoBeats Summit, SBC Summit expanded its focus to cover the latest trends across casino, sports betting, regulation, marketing, payments and emerging tech. The summit officially opened on June 11 with Malta’s Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, cutting the ribbon in true baller style.

The rebranding was a success, according to Clinton Cutajar, CTO of digital marketing crew MediaTroopers. “Everyone I meet says it’s a stellar show with awesome panels and a primo conference,” he said.

Dr. Eyal Loz, CPO of game studio RubyPlay also praised the event’s scale and flow. “It’s big enough to connect with a ton of interesting peeps and have killer meetings, and small enough to get around no problem. The whole shebang – location, panels – was brilliant.”

This year’s summit also brought serious commercial voltage, with a whopping 37% of attendees holding major decision-making roles. Operators and affiliates both showed up in force – 35% and 750 deep respectively – with major gains over last year.

Rosi Bremec, COO at Game Lounge, was equally amped. “I’ve only been in the game for 3 years. Events like this help me meet dope folks and level up my industry knowledge.”

Reflecting on the milestone event, SBC CEO and founder Rasmus Sojmark shared, “While the numbers were strong, and we killed our goals, what mattered most was the sheer excitement I saw everywhere – the expo floor, sessions, parties – it was electric.”

Industry leaders based in Malta were especially hyped about the local impact. Charles Mizzi, CEO of the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), said, “These events spotlight the massive role gaming plays in Malta’s economy.”

Andén concurred. “I’m Malta-based, so this is a sweet chance to link up with the industry homies both local and abroad.”

Bremec further spotlighted the local advantage. “Errybody was there – product, HR, you name it. We push attending these events big time.”

And while 47% of attendees were Malta locals, 53% flew in from abroad, showing serious international pull. “This proves the event holds wide appeal, connecting global players who specifically travel to Malta to plug in,” noted Sojmark.

Beyond buzzing expo networking, the conference agenda went hard with 17 hands-on workshops and 250 speaker experts across multiple stages.

SBC also debuted its signature EDM club rager INFINITY in Malta at the iconic Aria Complex. Headlined by EDM stars Galantis, the blowout party brought the entire industry together to get lit.

The week offered multiple evening networking events, including opening and closing parties at hot spots like Infinity and Open Waters. SBC also hosted exclusive, invite-only executive dinners and the SBC Awards Europe ceremony to honor standout industry achievers.

The overwhelmingly positive feedback highlighted SBC’s strength in delivering high-impact, buzzworthy events. As RubyPlay’s Dr. Eyal Loz put it: “I’ve hit up almost all SBC’s events this past year and will keep coming back for sure. They keep improving at an insane pace – super relevant, engaging and dynamic. My mind is blown.”
